You know, we didn't get to buy a bunch of land like I wanted for my little dream hobby farm. It just wasn't in the cards. No chickens either. Not allowed in my town...yet. ;) But God always knows what we need, and I am 100% sure this is exactly where He planted us. I am content here and feeling immensely blessed.
My big yard is keeping me busy enough, and there is an endless nature trail right by our house! The boys and I have enjoyed our first two weeks of slightly more organized rhythms throughout the day. Almost every day includes a walk on the paved, though bumpy in places, nature trail. Most days I leave my cell and camera at home and I just enjoy the sound of all the insects living in the wetlands, and the babbling of my little two-year-old hiking a good fifteen feet behind me.
The other two boys are far ahead on their bikes. They literally drive circles around me. They go far ahead and then they circle back around so I know where they are.
Last week we learned about mushrooms a little bit. The weeping willow by our house has these beautiful mushrooms growing on it.
This is my little trooper at the beginning of the walk. He insists on wearing the boots and carrying his backpack every time we go. He runs/walks the whole way. Sometimes it is a good 30 minutes or more!

And this is my little trooper toward the end of the walk.
