Cilantro. Rosemary. Fertility Frog. Avocado. Thyme.
The cilantro is from the store. I just keep it there to make it last a bit longer. Did you know you can grow Rosemary in water? It will grow roots and then you can plant it outside (if you live in TX) or in a pot. I'm not sure about the thyme. It's an experiment. Actually, I just checked, and the thyme is growing roots too! I thought it would. =) The wood is very similar to the rosemary and just like the rosemary bush, the thyme thrives in hot and dry soil. The avocado seed will turn into a tree, eventually. The fertily frog was a gift from the grandfather of the children I nannied when I was a teenager in Spain. Abuelo got it in Peru, where frogs are thought to be a symbol of fertility. It belongs with the plants; maybe it will keep my garden fertile.

Our windowsills are so cold even with new pella windows, it's hard to grow anything. Faith is growing some lentil seeds in cups and I have a parsley plant and a sad poinsettia. I wish I could get cilantro and Basil.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Elisa! Love the vibrant green color. Makes me think of spring!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love plants by the window like this. It makes any place a warm place, specially in Winter when we can not grow anything outdoors. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that about rosemary and thyme. The rosemary I planted in the garden last year isn't doing so well - I might be able to rescue it. Thanks!
ReplyDeletedid your avocado ever sprout? mine has like 5 giant leaves! :D
ReplyDeleteI just started these, we'll see!
DeleteYou should see the crazy avocado my husband sprouted! Of course we could never put it outside here, but it is getting huge! I didn't even think it would sprout.
ReplyDeleteMy mom's is 15 years old. It's big, like 6 ft big, but no avocados.
